Professor to Discuss How Land Use Planning Engages Students

OGDEN, Utah – Weber State University geography professor Bryan Dorsey, the 2010 John A. Lindquist Award recipient, will present “Community Service-Learning: Bringing Land Use Planning to Life” Nov. 10 at 1 p.m. in the Stewart Library Hetzel-Hoellein Room.

The presentation is free to the public. Dorsey has engaged his geography students in urban and regional planning projects for the past 14 years. 

He brings the subject to life through hands-on experience in pathway, open space and urban planning for numerous cities in Weber and Davis counties.

Dorsey said his urban planning course projects provide significant insights to the benefits of community based service-learning.
