‘Disney War’ Author to Speak at Weber State

Oct 18, 2005

OGDEN, Utah – Pulitzer Prize-winning author James B. Stewart will speak at Weber State University Oct. 26 at noon in the Shepherd Union Wildcat Theater.

Stewart, who won a Pulitzer Prize for his 1992 best-selling book “Den of Thieves,” is the author of the recently released non-fiction book “Disney War: The Battle for the Magic Kingdom.” He will speak about how the Walt Disney Company, known for its theme parks that claim to be the “happiest place on earth,” turned into a place of civil war among members of the company’s hierarchy and led to the resignation of CEO Michael Eisner.

In addition to writing non-fiction books, Stewart is a professor at the Columbia School of Journalism and an editor-at-large for Smart Money magazine.

The event, part of WSU’s Convocation Lecture series, is free to the public.
