New Basketball Coach to Speak at Alumni Center

Sept. 26, 2006

OGDEN, Utah – The Weber State University Alumni Association will host a free presentation by Randy Rahe, men's basketball coach, Oct. 4 at 6:30 p.m at the Lindquist Alumni Center.

Rahe, who enters his first season at WSU, will discuss his plans for the upcoming season and answer questions from those in attendance.

"I'm going to talk about our team, what they look like, what we're doing at this point in time, what the season looks like," Rahe said. "I'll talk about each individual on the team and also our program philosophy."

Since his hire following last season, Rahe has been busy preparing for the 2006-07 campaign. With only four returning players, Rahe has brought in 10 new players to fill his roster and has his team excited for the upcoming season.

"It's been fun," Rahe said. "I finally have a team to coach. I really like our guys; they're good kids who are going to work their tails off. They're going to play well together, and they're going to play with great passion and energy. We're going to play good fundamental basketball, and I think fans are going to enjoy it, I really do."

The event, which will include light refreshments and a prize drawing, is open to the public. Space, however, is limited. To reserve a spot, call (801) 626-7535.
