Conference Offers Ways to Strengthen Marriages

OGDEN, Utah –The “Governor’s Northern Utah Marriage Celebration” will be held at Weber State University on September 20. Join with hundreds of couples for an evening of education, entertainment and fun.

Special guests Governor and Mrs. Leavitt will welcome couples attending the event. KSL weather forecaster Mark Eubank and his wife Jean will deliver the keynote address, “Celebrating Marriage While Weathering the Storms.” The vocal group “Voice Male” will provide entertainment.

The conference, which starts at 6 p.m., offers 23 different workshops presented by marriage and family professionals from Northern Utah. Workshops will address such topics as conflict resolution, intimacy, financial planning, listening skills and blended families.

For those interested, pre-conference workshops will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.  Sponsors of the event include WSU, Utah State University, USU Extension Services and the Governor’s Initiative on Families Today (GIFT).
