WSU to Host Reading and Writing Conference
OGDEN, Utah – Weber State University, in conjunction with the Utah State Office of Education (USOE), will host the 22nd Annual Reading & Writing Conference June 16-17 in the Stewart Stadium Sky Suites.
The conference is designed to give elementary and secondary educators an edge in addressing the needs of their students. Presenters for the two-day conference are professors Brenda L. Sabey from Dixie State College and Mary Jo Fresch from The Ohio State University. Sabey will focus her remarks on teaching reading and writing in early childhood and elementary education, while Fresch will concentrate on ways to improve reading and writing at the secondary education level.
Both USOE inservice credit and WSU credit are available to participants. Check-in and a continental breakfast begin at 8 a.m. both days with sessions starting at 8:30 a.m.
The participation fee varies between $70-140 depending on the credit received. The first 100 registrants will receive a $40 scholarship automatically applied to their conference registration fee. Fees include sessions, materials and refreshments for both days. Lunch is not included.
