The conference will feature James Flood, Ph.D., a professor of reading/language arts at San Diego State University, presenting "Vocabulary and Comprehension Strategies: What We Know Works Best," which is geared towards elementary and early childhood education. Carol Booth Olson, Ph.D., a senior lecturer at the University of California-Irvine, will present, "The Reading/Writing Connection: Strategies for Teaching and Learning in the Secondary Classroom," for secondary education instructors.
