Visual Arts Earns National Accreditation

The Department of Visual Arts at Weber State University was recently awarded accreditation from the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).

WSU is one of three universities in Utah and 305 in the United States with the distinction of NASAD accreditation.

The decision to award accreditation was made by the NASAD Commission after evaluating the department’s academic strength and integrity. The review process included an extensive self-study and a three-day on-site visit by two outside evaluators.

NASAD is the national accrediting agency for art and design and art and design-related disciplines. It was established in 1944 to improve educational practices and maintain high professional standards in art and design education.
