Weber State University's American Indian Council will host a series of activities in conjunction with WSU American Indian Emphasis Week, April 6-11.
The week will begin April 6 with a sunrise ceremony at 8 a.m. at the Stewart Bell Tower Plaza. That event will be followed by the Fifth Annual Native American Symposium, starting at 9 a.m. with a keynote address by Dr. Stephen Greymorning in the Shepherd Union Wildcat Theater.
Both events are free to the public. Additional demonstrations and activities are planned throughout the week.
The emphasis week will conclude April 11 with the 38th Annual Powwow from 1 to 8 p.m. in the Shepherd Union Ballrooms. Admission is $4 per person or $3 with donation of a non-perishable food item.
All proceeds from the powwow will be donated to the Salt Lake City Indian Walk-in Center.
