Professor to Discuss History of Spirit Rapping

OGDEN, Utah – The Weber Historical Society and the Weber State University Alumni Association will host a presentation on the history of spirit rapping on March 22 at 7 p.m. in WSU's Lindquist Alumni Center.

The presentation by WSU assistant history professor Brady Brower, "Unruly Spirits: Psychic Phenomena and the Second Scientific Revolution," will explain how two girls in upstate New York created a frenzy by discovering a way of "communicating with spirits." He also will discuss how it became an international phenomenon, gaining the interest of elite researchers at many major American and European universities.

Brower's presentation is free and open to the public. For more information, call 801-626-6706.
