Alumni Association Offers Nevada Trip to Examine History of Vice

OGDEN, Utah – The Weber State University Alumni Association is sponsoring an overnight bus trip to Wendover, Nev. to explore that state’s history of legalized gambling and prostitution.

Kay Gillespie, professor and chair of WSU’s Department of Criminal Justice will discuss the issues and ramifications of Nevada’s legalization of vice. The trip, part of the WSUAA Class Without a Quiz series, will include a behind-the-scenes tour of a casino.

The bus is scheduled to leave the Lindquist Alumni Center at 6 p.m. March 31 and return at the same time on April 1. The cost of the trip is $95 per person for single occupancy, $65 per person double occupancy and space is limited. The price includes transportation, hotel accommodations at the historic Nugget Hotel and Casino in Wendover, tour and some meals.
