Visiting Scholar to Address American Air Power

OGDEN, Utah – Thomas A. Hughes, military history professor at the United States Air Force School for Advanced Air & Space Studies, will present "American Air Power: Where We've Been, Where We Are & Where We're Headed." The lecture, which is free to the public, will take place at 7 p.m. March 11 in the Stewart Library Special Collections Room on the Weber State University Ogden campus.

Hughes is a widely respected specialist on air power doctrine and military affairs. His publications include "Overlord: General Pete Quesada and the Triumph of Tactical Air Power in World War II" (Free Press, 1995), which was a History Book Club selection and a recurring selection on the USAF Chief of Staff's required professional reading list.  He is completing a biography of Admiral Bill Halsey.

The lecture, part of the Eccles lecture series, is presented by WSU's Department of History and the College of Social & Behavioral Sciences and sponsored by a grant from the Eccles Foundation. For more information call 801-626-6710.
