OGDEN, Utah – Weber State University will host the Aspire Higher in the Game of Life conference, March 11 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Shepherd Union Ballroom.
The conference, designed for women of all ages, will feature a series of presentations, workshops and discussions covering a wide range of women’s issues.
Author, poet and playwright Carol Lynn Pearson will serve as the keynote speaker for the event. In addition to her presentation during the conference, Pearson will perform her one-woman play, “Mother Wove the Morning,” at 7:30 p.m. March 11 in the Shepherd Union Wildcat Theater.
The cost of the conference is $10, which includes registration and meals. The evening performance by Pearson is open to the public for $10 per person.
“This is an exciting opportunity for women to come and learn more about the topics and issues that affect their lives,” said Carol Merrill, coordinator of WSU’s Services for Women Students.
“Whether they are pursuing personal or professional endeavors, we’ve tried to offer speakers and seminars that will provide new insights and resources for women at any stage in life.”
A pre-conference opening reception will be held on March 10 from 6:30 p.m. to
8 p.m. at Universe City Gallery (2556 Washington Blvd. in Ogden). The reception is free.
