OGDEN, Utah – Utah’s poet laureate, Lance Larsen, will speak at Weber State University Feb. 25 at 4 p.m. in Elizabeth Hall Room 229.
Larsen’s charge is to promote literature around the state. Gov. Gary Herbert appointed Larsen in May 2012, and he will serve in the role for five years.
“His visit to WSU will be an excellent opportunity for all students, especially those in English and creative writing, to hear him read,” said Kathleen Herndon, chair of the English department.
Larsen’s public reading will be followed by a book signing. He is the author of four collections of poetry and is currently working on a collection about place, family and memory, which won first place in the 2011 Utah Original Writing Competition.
The event is free and open to the public. Visit weber.edu/wsutoday
