OGDEN, Utah – The Weber State Historical Society will present “Joseph Smith’s Polygamy, New Discoveries and Observations” Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. in the Lindquist Alumni Center Garden Room.
The lecture will feature Brian C. Hales, a Utah-based author and anesthesiologist. His book, “Modern Polygamy and Mormon Fundamentalism: The Generations after the Manifesto,” received the Best Book of 2007 award from the John Whitmer Historical Association.
He is co-author of “The Priesthood of Modern Polygamy: an LDS Perspective.”
Hales’ new book, “Joseph Smith’s Polygamy: History and Theology,” will be published February 2013 by Greg Kofford Books.
The event, which is free and open to the public, is part of the Weber Historical Society spring 2013 Lecture Series and is presented by Weber State University’s Department of History, the College of Social & Behavioral Sciences and the Alumni Association.
