Fusion of Sales and Psychology DiscussedOGDEN, Utah – Weber State University’s departments of psychology and professional sales present “The Art and Science of Selling” featuring Alan Hall, chairman of the WSU Board of Trustees and chairman of Marketstar, Feb. 18 at 12:30 p.m. in the Shepherd Union Wildcat Theater. The event is free and open to the public.
“It’s important for students to recognize that psychology and sales are intertwined because buying behaviors are socially and emotionally driven,” said Aaron Hall, director of the Hall Center for Sales Excellence.
A panel discussion with psychology and professional sales faculty will follow Hall’s speech.
“In the 29 years our degree has been offered, many students have combined psychology courses with our sales courses,” said professional sales professor Carl Grunander. “The two subjects blend together.”
To better reflect its mission and established value in the market place, the Department of Sales and Service Technology recently changed its name to the Department of Professional Sales.
“Our students receive a comprehensive sales training, the combination of sales and psychology being one example,” Grunander said. “Professional sales better describes the education and careers they pursue.”
