OGDEN, Utah – After serving for one year as the volunteer interim director, Aaron Hall has been selected as the director of Weber State University’s Alan E. Hall Center for Sales Excellence.
Hall will lead the center in its mission to enhance sales techniques by redefining sales around the customer. The center sets itself apart as the only one at any public university in Utah.
"I am honored and excited be a part of Weber State University and to lead the newly created Alan E. Hall Center for Sales Excellence,” said Aaron Hall, who graduated from the program in ’95 and then made sales his career and passion for more than 20 years. “I hope to bring more visibility to the department and its students as we partner with industry across all sales disciplines.”
The center will develop sales curriculum and instruction for private and public institutions, create online resources for sales, coordinate with industry professionals to advance industry-specifics sales skills, promote the development of improved sales technology and theory-based techniques, and link students with professionals and organizations.
“Our objective is to create a best-in-class sales center where academia and industry converge, best practices and thought leadership are shared, and students are prepared for future career opportunities. We have something very special at WSU, and we hope to capitalize on the sales center's unique offering,” Hall said.
The center, which was announced on Feb. 1, 2013, works in conjunction with the Department of Professional Sales in the College of Applied Science & Technology and is the only four-year professional sales program of its kind in the nation.
Dean of the college Dave Ferro led the national search to find a dynamic and permanent director.

Hall Center for Sales Excellence,” Ferro said. “He possesses a unique mix of executive management and sales skills, boundless energy and determination. With Aaron's leadership, we hope to capitalize on the department's strengths while furthering our relationships with industry leaders and providing the best, most comprehensive sales education in the world."
Hall is the former Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Client Services at MarketStar. A 22-year veteran of MarketStar, Hall ensured successful multi-channel sales execution for leading technology and consumer electronics companies such as Intel, HP, IBM, Sony and Cisco. Hall launched MarketStar operations in Latin America, Asia Pacific and EMEA, while leading a workforce of 6,000 employees.
Hall also serves as Director at Mercato Partners and is a member of the firm's Investment Committee.
Hall received his MBA from the University of Utah and Bachelor of Arts in Technical (Professional) Sales from Weber State University. He is an avid triathlete competing in Ironman and other multi-sport events.
