DeVoto, who was born in Ogden in 1897, penned a long-lived column called “The Easy Chair” in Harper’s magazine throughout the mid-twentieth century, and often expressed a love-hate relationship with his hometown.
Burrows authored a study of DeVoto, which was published as part of the Western Writers Series by Boise State University Press.
