Award-Winning Student Director to Host Advance Screening

January 14, 2010

Weber State University student Issac Goeckeritz, the director of “Ogden: Junction City of the West” and “Uintah United,” will offer an advance screening of his latest documentary “Pimp This Bum,” Jan. 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the Shepherd Union Wildcat Theater.

The film tells the story of Tim Edwards, a homeless man who lived on the streets of Houston for five years. Last February, Edwards was approached by a father and son Web site development team who offered to create the Web site where people could donate to Edwards via the Internet.

The national media seized on Edward’s story, and within two weeks he raised $70,000. Goeckeritz’s documentary tells the story of Edward’s life in the wake of this unexpected turn of fortune.

The screening, sponsored by the WSU chapter of Phi Alpha Theta honor society, is free to the public.
