UB Academic Year

Each school year, from September to May, Upward Bound staff provide students with the following sevices:

Academic tutoring with individual and group sessions in addition to homework assistance
Monitoring of academic progress maintaining a college-bound track
Individual counseling for academic or personal problems
Academic improvement with college/univeristy-level skills training
Career exploration
Access to academic and cultural activities
Access to a variety of community involvement and service activities
College entrance exam preparation
College admissions, registrations and navigation
Assistance with financial aid and scholarship applications

Students meet with Education Specialists weekly at Weber State University in the Social Sciences Building on Saturdays from 9:00am to 12:00pm for College Prep/Study Hall. In addition, Education Specialists meet with students at individual schools during the week as necessary.


	2009-10 SATURDAY COLLEGE PREP November 21 December 5, 12 January 9, 23, 30 February 6, 20, 27 March 6, 13, 20, 27 April 10, 17, 24 May 1, 8, 15 Social Science Building: Room 201 Additional Rooms: 227, 231, 233 ALL UB STUDENTS Super Saturday December 5th-We will be taking all UB students to the Festival of Trees, lunch and a movie. Students need to plan on College Prep from 9:00-11:00am, our Super Saturday immediately after leaving from WSU, and returning around 6:00pm. This is a mandatory activity unless you are dying! COMMUNITY SERVICE KEYSTONE CLUB ACTIVITIES Keystone Activities have started and run ever Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00-8:00pm at the Cottage (formerly Washington HS) in Ogden. These activities and tutoring services are available for all UB students with friends/family welcome to attend. BRIDGE 2010 JUNIORS 2011 Practice ACT test-All Juniors will take a practice ACT as part of College Prep on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009. Junior students need to meet in rom 227 by 8:00am ready with pencils, a calculator and picture ID. 2010 Academic Summer Program June 7, 2010: 2009-10 Year-End Banquet June 14-19, 2010: Academic Field Trip June 21-July 22, 2010: Academic Residential Program
