Accuplacer

ACCUPLACER

The Union Testing Center is the primary location for the Accuplacer test.  Please direct questions to that center at 801-626-6645. Davis Testing Center call 801-395-3495.  No Accuplacer tests will be given during finals April 14-19.  Accuplacer testing will resume Friday April 20.

What is Accuplacer?

Accuplacer is a placement test that consists of Math, Reading Comprehension, and
Sentence Skills.  WSU requires students whose ACT Math scores are below 22, or whose
Math score has expired after two years, to take Accuplacer before registration.  Students
with no ACT English scores are also required to take the Reading Comprehension and
and Sentence Skills before they will be able to register.  Accuplacer scores expire one year from test date.

Can I transfer my scores from another Institution?

WSU has a unique placement system, using Accuplacer, which is not compatible with other institutions.  The WSU version of the test is set up at Davis Applied Technology Center and Ogden/Weber Applied Technology Center. You must ask for our version of the exam if you take it at these centers. Scores from other institutions are not accepted.  You may request our version of Accuplacer to be given at institutions that are more than 50 miles from a WSU campus.

What do I do if I need to take Accuplacer from outside of the Ogden-Layton region?

Students who live more than 50 miles from WSU's Ogden or Davis campuses may request to take Accuplacer at another institution. We will set it up so that those results will be automatically downloaded onto our system. In compliance with WSU's policy on a 50 mile distance, we do not set up distance Accuplacer exams in Salt Lake County, Box Elder County, or most of Cache County. However, if you are south of the Utah County/Salt Lake County line or beyond the Idaho and Wyoming state borders, we will be glad to help you take the exam elsewhere. Please follow the instructions by filling out the Distance Accuplacer Request Form at this link.

Please note; To assure that your Distance Accuplacer Proctor Reuest is processed before the end of 2011, please have your request submitted by Friday december 16th.

How much does it cost?

The math exam costs $10.00.  The Reading Comprehension and Sentence Skills cost
$5.00 each.

How do I get my test results?

Test results will be received immediately, although registration holds will not be removed
until the next morning.

Who do I speak with about a hold on my registration?

Holds are generally expired the next business morning after the test is taken.  Union
Testing is the Accuplacer center.  Questions about registration holds should be directed to
Terry Wright at 626-6645 or twright@weber.edu.

What do I need to bring to take Accuplacer?

A picture ID and a "W number" are required.  Calculators are not allowed, but scratch
paper will be provided.

What is my "W number"?

The "W number" is the ID assigned to a student when they are admitted.  It is printed
on Admissions and Registration material.  When entering the number into Accuplacer, be
sure to use a capital "W" and use zeros not Os.  Please be sure your "W number" is correct so that your information can be entered onto Banner.

When may I take Accuplacer?

The test is given up until 2 hours before the closing at that particular testing center.
Please check the hours on this website.  No appointment is necessary.  .  No Accuplacer testing during the week of finals April 14 - 19.  Accuplacer testing will resume Friday April 20.
