Graduate Management Admission Test
The GMAT is used to assess the qualifications of applicants for advanced study in business and management and is required by most graduate schools in business and management. It measures general verbal, mathematical, and analytical writing skills that are developed over a long period of time and are associated with success in the first year of study. The GMAT does not presuppose any specific knowledge of business nor does it measure achievement in any particular subject area. It consists of questions in verbal and quantitative and two analytical writing topics. The test is computer-adaptive and is administered by the Prometric Testing Center ((801) 394-5990). To register for the GMAT, candidates should obtain a GMAT bulletin from the Student Services Testing Center or from the Davis Campus Testing Center. Registration and scheduling for testing can be completed by calling The Prometric Testing Center at (801) 394-5990. A GMAT prep course is offered by the University of Utah's department of Continuing Education in collaboration with Weber State University's department of Academic Support Services & Programs. Sample test questions are found in the GMAT bulletin. Study books are available in most bookstores and libraries. |
