Supplemental Instruction Program at WSU Ogden Campus

The Supplemental Instruction (SI) program at Weber State University is one of the largest programs in the United States. There are more than 50 sections that are offered with SI help. Built on the University of Missouri’s SI model, the program at WSU hires highly motivated students who have previously taken the course preferably from the same instructor and earned an A or A- from the course. The students are then trained to become SI Leaders.

SI Leaders attend classes, interact with the professors and students, and hold a minimum of three study sessions at times most convenient to students in the class. At the sessions, SI Leaders facilitate learning by using various strategies particularly suited to the participants. SI Leaders are trained regularly to improve their skills and they are observed by the supervisor several times during the semester.
