What can I do with a degree in sociology?
A bachelor’s degree in sociology prepares you for entry-level positions in business, social services and government. Employers look for people with the skills that an undergraduate education in sociology provides.
For more information, visit the American Sociological Association Web site.
What will I learn?
Sociology is the study of human society and the fundamental laws of social relations. You will gain many distinctive perspectives on the world and learn research techniques that can be used to better understand any aspect of social life (for example: street crime, corporate downsizing, welfare reform, family relations or problems of war).
Sociologists understand social inequality, patterns of behavior, forces for social change and resistance, and how social systems work.
