What can I do with a degree in political science?

After completing your degree in political science, you will be prepared to work in a variety of fields, including civil and foreign service, law, political campaign management, state and local government, and legislative analysis.

A political science degree from WSU also gives you a strong foundation for graduate study not only in political science, but also in law, administration, business and international relations.

What will I learn?

In pursuit of a political science degree, you will study world politics, public opinion and political behavior. You also will examine the development and function of governments and the behavior of their rulers.

You will have opportunities to study everything from Aristotle to complex equations, from international affairs to constitutional law, so your training will be useful no matter what career you choose.

  • Many of our students complete internships in Washington, D.C., and at the Utah Legislature.
  • You will be prepared to study at the best graduate and law schools in the country.
