Scholarships

Students can apply for most Services for Women Students Scholarships through the Scholarship Office. Applications are completed on-line from January through March 31st. Students can apply for community-sponsored scholarships at the SWS office. All applicants will be required to meet with a SWS counselor for a mandatory scholarship interview prior to March 31st. Requirements and due dates are subject to change, so please check the office regularly for updated information.

Most scholarships are based on full-time enrollment, a 3.0 G.P.A. and must have Utah residency and U.S. citizenship or residency, unless specified otherwise.

Adult Students in Scholastic Transition (ASIST):
Executive Women International (EWI) provides two scholarships in amounts ranging from $500.00 to $1,500.00 per student per year. This scholarship is open to male and female students. Applications are usually available in the SWS office in April.
 
American Association of University Women (AAUW)-Career Development Grants:
Graduate scholarships are usually available at the following web site

Brigham City Community Scholarship:
Box Elder County adults who have had an interruption in their formal education and wish to begin or return to college are eligible to apply for this scholarship. This award is sponsored by AAUW. The scholarship is valued at $1,000.00 and is usually divided between Fall and Spring Semester. Applications are usually available March 1st in the SWS office. 
 
American Business Women's Association:
This scholarship is available to women over the age of 18. This scholarship is intended to help individuals who would benefit from higher educational opportunities, but who probably will not receive major scholarships. The awarded amount is approximately $500.00. Applications are usually available February 15th in the SWS office.. 
 
Annie Taylor Dee Scholarship:
Applicants must be a single mother, a full-time student with a 3.0 G.P.A., and have completed 24 earned credit hours by the time of application. Five scholarships are awarded in the amount of $2,000.00. Applications are usually available January. Apply through the Scholarship Office 
 
Myrna L. Thomas- St. Benedicts Foundation Scholarship:
St. Benedicts Foundation sponsors this scholarship for female students. Students must have an approved academic plan and advisor and must be 18 or over.  Students cannot be receiving any other forms of educational financial assistance (including a Pell Grant). Two to five scholarships are provided each year in the amount of $1,000 to $2,000.00. Part-time students are eligible to apply. Applications are usually available January. Apply through the Scholarship Office 
 
New Beginnings Scholarship:
Applicants must be a single mother or father, a full-time students with a 3.0 G.P.A. and have completed 24 earned credit hours by the time of application. This scholarship is provided in the amount of $2,500.00. Applications are available in January. Apply through the Scholarship Office. 
 
"Rising Star" Scholarship:
Applicants must be a female age 25 and over, or a single mother age 25 and over, a full-time student with a 3.0 G.P.A. and have completed 24 earned credit hours by the time of application. Part-time students are eligible to apply. This scholarship is provided with the amount of $2,000.00. Applications are available in January. Apply through the Scholarship Office. 
 
Services for Women Students Semester Grants:
Students must be 20 years of age or older, a single mother or father, a full-time student with a 3.0 G.P.A., and have completed at least 24 credit hours at the end of spring semester. Additional considerations are community and volunteer service. Applications are available in January. Apply through the Scholarship Office. 
 
Soroptimist International
Applicants must be female head of household, entering part-time, or returning to job market. Applications are usually available November 30th in the SWS office.
