SSS Participation Requirements

As a Student Support Services participant, you are expected to participate in the program. 

Freshman Students (0 - 29 credit hours)

  1. Meet with an SSS advisor at least three times per semester.
  2. Attend at least two workshops each semester.
  3. Participate in at least one SSS-approved enrichment activity per semester (see SSS-Approved Enrichment Events link on the left).
  4. Complete the Financial Literacy on-line course.

Sophomore Students (30 - 59 credit hours)

  1. Meet with an SSS advisor at least two times per semester.
  2. Attend at least two workshops per semester.
  3. Participate in at least one SSS-approved enrichment activity per semester (see SSS-Approved Enrichment Events link on the left).
  4. Attend at least one Financial Literacy workshop each semester.

Junior Students (60 - 89 credit hours)

  1. Meet with an SSS advisor at least two times per semester.
  2. Attend at least one cultural enrichment event per semester.
  3. Explore graduate school and/or career opportunities.
  4. Use the career center for resume building, mock interviews, etc. and attend the Career Fair.

Senior Students (90+ credit hours)

  1. Meet with an SSS advisor at least one time per semester.
  2. Participate in at least one SSS-approved enrichment activity per semester (see SSS-Approved Enrichment Events link on the left).
  3. Finalize plans for after graduation.
  4. Sign up for interviews through the Career Center.

This Student Support Services Project is 100% federally funded. The grant amount for the 2012/2013 school year was $401,130.  The grant amount for the 2013/2014 school year will be announced soon.
