Hi, I'm Tyson Salley I graduated from high school in 2004 in
Billings, Montana.
I was 18, smart, and I knew everything the world was about. From there, I went fishing up in Dutch Harbor, Alaska in
the BaringSea for 12 months for a commercial
fishery. My work there took me to Japan. I spent a week there while
we did maintenance on the boat.I came
back to Seattle, Washington where I spent a week and then I traveled by train
and bus for about five or six months visiting people that I knew, and exploring.
My travels took me to Washington, Oregon, California, Mexico, Arizona,
Texas, Tennessee,
Chicago, and then back to Montana, where I worked construction when I
needed to. I was living the dream - just
fishing, camping and living easy. One day I was on the web surfing around and I
decided that I had better get an education. I didn't want to work on boats for
the rest of my life. I saw the athletic training program at WeberState.
I applied on-line, hustled, and found a scholarship. I ended up here and found Student
Support Services through my friend George. I have found help and support for my
course work, used the tutoring, attended study skills workshops, and applied
for financial assistance. I believe the many services provided by Student
Support Services will help me succeed in meeting my goals to graduate with a Bachelor's
degree in athletic training and continue on to graduate school for my Master's
degree.
