Assessment and Placement Policy Compliance Petition
Per Weber State University's Student Code (see Weber State University Policy & Procedures Manual PPM 6-22 section IX), if you feel you have extenuating circumstances that should exclude you from adherence to a Weber State Policy (e.g., WSU's Assessment and Placement Policy), you may file a petition for an exception to policy. Per PPM, students must submit a petition within 12 months after the event or issue is being contested. To their official mailing address on record with Weber State University, students will be mailed a written decision of the result of their petition within two weeks of receipt.
Policy exceptions will not be granted based on the following:
- disagreement with having to comply with the policy
- course scheduling difficulties
- hardship caused by limited enrollment (e.g., academic program eligibility, financial aid, scholarships, and insurance eligibility)
If your petition is based on a documented disability, you are required to work with Services for Students with Disabilities. This office will work with you and the appropriate department (Developmental Math or Developmental English). Include pertinent information from these offices as part of the petition.
