Weber State College's - MultiCultural Education Resource Center (M.E.R.C.) established Melvin Gillespie - Director

Weber State College becomes Weber State University (WSU) on January 1, 1991 - Louis Barraza becomes interim Director of M.E.R.C. in 1992 until December 1994 - Two other counselors were hired, one for Native American and one for African-American students.

WSU undergoes Strategic Planning initiative and restructures M.E.R.C. to become Services for MultiCultural Students (SMS) Jeffrey L. Simons - Coordinator from January 1995 to end of June 1999. Establishes the first Multicultural Website identifying scholarships, research links, calendar of events, and important linkages to other multicultural resources.

WSU Undergoes another initiative with many of the Student Affairs Departments and changes many of the departmental names. Services foir Multicultual Students changes it's name to Multicultural Student Center in December of 2007.
