IST 2010: Business Computer Skills

COURSE DESCRIPTION

IST 2010 is a Business Foundation course which provides business majors with competency in the software skills necessary for business careers, and courses taught in the John B. Goddard School of Business and Economics.

The IST 2010 course is taught online and consists of a collection of tutorials and three module exams.
The three modules include:

  • Sensible Computing
  • Intermediate/Advanced Excel
  • Beginning Access

IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT IST 2010

  • This is a one-credit hour, CR/NC (Credit/No Credit) course.
  • The class allows for a great deal of schedule flexiblitiy. However, failure to successfully pass the three module exams in a timely manner will result in a N/C grade, and the course must then be repeated.
  • Exams may NOT be taken during the last week of the semester. During Fall and Spring semesters, Finals Week is considered the last week.

NOTE: While IST 2010 meets the Computer Literacy requirement, it does NOT complete the Information Literacy requirement (neither does TBE1700). Business majors may use BUSADM 2704 (recommended), or TBE TD1504, or LibSci/TBE TD 1704, or TD2201 to complete the Information Literacy requirement.
