Can I apply for the program if I don't have a bachelor's degree in Accounting?
Yes. Those without an undergraduate degree in accounting will need to complete leveling course work after acceptance into the program.
Depending on prior academic history leveling classes will include some or all of the following:

What will an MTax degree do for me?
Earning an MTax degree gives you better career opportunities in taxation and accounting and satisfies the education requirements of the Utah Certified Public Accountant Licensing Act to sit for the CPA exam. Today's MTax graduates effectively pursue opportunities to work as vice presidents, CEOs and CFOs in a competitive business world. What is unique about Weber State's program?
Weber State University designed the MTax program in response to the increasing complexity of tax regulation for individuals and businesses. The MTax degree program prepares students for the intricacies of today's taxation world.
Am I eligible to apply?
The MTax program is designed primarily for students who have an undergraduate business degree with a major in accounting from an accredited university. However, if you do not have a business degree or major in accounting, you can still apply to the program. You will be required to complete some undergraduate leveling courses before applying. When should I apply?
Applications are accepted any time prior to the start of fall, spring or summer semesters, but the earlier the better.
How long does it take to complete the program?
If you have a bachelor's degree in accounting, you can complete the program in as little as two semesters of full-time study. The program must be completed within 6 years from the date of acceptance.
How much is tuition?
Tuition and fees vary from year to year, but WSU remains one of the most affordable universities in the state and country. You can check the current tuition rates here.
Are scholarships available?
We offer many scholarships and tuition waivers, which are generally awarded based on GMAT scores and undergraduate GPA. To apply for these scholarships and tuition waivers, submit your application for the following academic year by March 31.
Is the program accredited?
The program is fully accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB).
When are courses taught?
MTax were designed to fit your needs. MAcc courses are conveniently taught at the WSU Davis Campus in the late afternoon and evening to better meet your schedule. Each course is normally offered only once a year, so it is important to develop a course plan that meets all of the requirements in time for graduation. There is no required sequence of courses, so you can enter the program at the beginning of any semester.
