 Registration Tips
Seek Academic Advisement
Students are strongly encouraged to plan their class schedules in consultation with an advisor to avoid unnecessary changes and ensure efficient progress toward completion of degree requirements.

For advisement for a
General Studies Degree contact the Student Success Center at (801) 626-6752 or studentsuccess@weber.edu to set up an appointment.

For advisement in any other degree refer to the list of
Departmental Advisors.

Registering Corequisite Courses
When registering for a lecture that has a corresponding lab or classes that are corequisites of each other you will need to register for both the lecture and lab or corequisites classes at the same exact time.

Switching Out Lab Sections
When you register for classes that are corequisites of each other (like a lecture & lab) and end up dropping one of them the other class will also drop automatically because they are connected.

As such, if you ever need to switch out a class for a different section, you will need to select the option to drop next to the section you are dropping and enter the CRN of the section you are adding to the Add Classes Worksheet and then click Submit Changes to make the switch.

Before doing this make sure the section you are wanting to switch to is actually open and does not have any students already on a waitlist.  If there are, you will only get the option to waitlist for the section you were wanting, and will have dropped yourself from the section you were trying to switch from as well as from it's corresponding corequisite course because they were connected.

Always check the Waitlist before Switching Sections
When switching out sections in general make sure you check the section you are wanting to see if it has a waitlist and if there are any students on it.  Some classes will appear open but are really not.  The seat that is open is reserved for students on the waitlist.  So if you try to register for a class that appears open but has an active waitlist, you will only get the option to waitlist for the course.  So don't drop a class that you are already in before checking the other section entirely out first.

 Registration Add Errors

Prerequisite and Test Score Error
You will receive this message if you do not meet the Prerequisites for the course.

To view the course prerequisites, simply click the blue CRN (Course Reference Number and then on the Course Title.  The course prerequisites will be listed at the the bottom.

If you do meet the prerequisites, then you will need to contact the Department of the course for permission to register.  If permission is given, the Department will issue a prerequisite override that will allow you to register for the course within your eWeber portal.

Corequisite Error
You will receive this message if you attempted to register a class without it's corequisite (classes that are required to be taken together).

To avoid this, simply register for both classes at the same time by checking both boxes, if both classes are listed on the same page, followed by clicking Register.

If both classes that are corequisites of each other are listed on separate pages, check the box next to each class and click Add to Worksheet.  After both are listed in the Add Classes click Submit Changes.

You can also enter both CRNs directly into the Add Classes Worksheet and click Submit Changes.

Instructor Approval
You will need to contact the Department for an override that will enable you to register for the class.

Maximum Credit Restriction
Students are only allowed to register for a maximum of 20 credit hours each semester. If you receive this message, you will need to drop a class first before adding another one.

If you are wanting to take more than 20 credit hours for any given semester you will need to file a
Petition to Take Excess Credits.

Campus Restriction
You will receive this message if you are designated as a certain campus and are trying to register for classes that are outside of your campus.

For example, a student designated as "online only" would receive a Campus Restriction if they attempted to register for a face-to-face taught course.  If the student wanted to take classes taught on campus they would need to contact the Admission's Office to switch their campus.

Duplicate Error
You will receive this message if you are attempting to register for a course that you are already currently registered for.  You need to drop the course that you are currently registered first before adding the course you want.
