Accreditation Information Weber State University is a member of the American Council on Education and the American Association of State Colleges and Universities. The University is accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges and the Utah State Board of Regents. The Radiologic Sciences programs are recognized by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as meeting national professional standards. Licensure & Certification Requirements Radiography Upon successful completion of the Radiography program, candidates are eligible to take the national certification examination in radiography given by the ARRT. This certification examination is recognized nationally. Many states have licensure requirements; however, the ARRT certification is accepted in all states and might be used to fulfill the state regulations. Individuals who want to practice in the state of Utah must be licensed as a Radiologic Technologist by the state. Please check the requirements for the state where you work. Individuals who have been convicted of, or plead guilty to, or plead nolo contendre to a crime which is either a felony or is a crime of moral turpitude should contact the department prior to making application to determine eligibility for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification Examination. Diagnostic Medical Sonography Upon successful completion of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program and either a two-year allied health program or completion of a BS degree, candidates are eligible to take the national certification examination given by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Candidates also are eligible to take the ARRT certification in sonography. Many states also require practicing sonographers to be licensed. Please check the requirements for the state where you work. Nuclear Medicine Upon successful completion of the Nuclear Medicine program, candidates are eligible to take the national certification examination given by the ARRT or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB). Many states have licensure requirements; however, the ARRT or the NMTCB certification is accepted by many states and might be used to fulfill the state regulations. Individuals who want to practice in the state of Utah must be licensed as a Radiologic Technologist by the state. Please check the requirements for the state where you work. Individuals who want to practice in the state of Utah must be licensed as a Radiologic Technologist by the state. Please check the requirements for the state where you work. - Computed Tomography Upon successful completion of the Computed Tomography emphasis, candidates are eligible to take the national certification examination given by the ARRT. Many states have licensure requirements; however, the ARRT certification is accepted in all states and might be used to fulfill the state regulations. Graduates also fulfill the federal requirements of MQSA (Mammography Quality Standards Act). Many states have licensure requirements; however, the ARRT certification is accepted in all states and might be used to fulfill the state regulations. Individuals who want to practice in the state of Utah must be licensed as a Radiologic Technologist by the state. Please check the requirements for the state where you work. - Quality Assurance Upon successful completion of the Quality Assurance emphasis, candidates are eligible to take the national certification examination given by the ARRT. Please check the requirements for the state where you work. - Bone Densitometry Upon successful completion of the Bone Densitometry emphasis, candidates are eligible to take the national certification examination given by the ARRT or the International Society of Clinical for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD). Some states have licensure requirements; however, the ARRT or the ISCD certification is accepted in all states and might be used to fulfill the state regulations. Individuals who want to practice in the state of Utah must be licensed as a Radiologic Technologist by the state. Please check the requirements for the state where you work. - Radiology Practitioner Assistant/Radiology Assistant Upon successful completion of the Radiology Practitioner Assistant/Radiology Assistant emphasis, candidates are eligible to take the national certification examination given by the ARRT or the Certification Board for Radiology Practitioner Assistant (CRBRPA).
