This program will teach you about patient care and assessment; psycho-social aspects of patient care; radiation biology, safety and protection; and radiation physics and instrumentation.

Also, you will learn anatomy and radiographic positioning procedures; medical terminology and pathology; and the principles and techniques of diagnostic imaging.

Employment opportunities are available in hospitals, clinics, physician offices and industrial X- ray, such as the aerospace industry.

Employment of Registered Radiologic Technologists is expected to grow by as much as 42 percent in Utah and 25 percent nationally by 2008.

Graduates have been hired with a salary ranging from $30,000 to $35,000 in Utah. This may vary depending on the region, workplace and skill level.
