In order to pursue this emphasis, you must have a recommendation from a supervising physician and five years experience as an ARRT registered technologist. This course of study is a modified distance-learning model, but it is an instructor directed, organized and planned educational experience.You will use learning modules that contain specific educational objectives, learning experiences that are correlated to each objective and detailed instructions for each course. You will be required to attend intensive classroom sessions on the WSU campus twice a semester to enhance the learning process and to provide faculty-student interaction.The program is 20 months, or five semesters in length; students will have to attend seminars on campus approximately 10 times. Summer semester will be primarily devoted to developing clinical skills and developing a research project; therefore, campus sessions are not required.Students come to campus the first time for orientation to the program and for clarification of program requirements; thereafter, the students come to campus twice each semester.Classes are scheduled a year in advance so students can make work and travel arrangements. Courses require computer use including Internet access and e-mail.
