Bachelor of Science

Registered technologists pursuing studies in advanced radiologic sciences at WSU have an opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree. Candidates for the BS degree must complete one of four program majors (listed below) and an approved minor. This degree is available both on campus and through regional programs.

Advanced Radiologic Sciences

Students in this program must select an area or combination of areas of emphasis. These areas are designed to meet your career goals in medical imaging modalities and for technical, management and educational positions. The following emphases are available:

Advanced Radiologic Sciences
Bone Densitometry
Cardiovascular-Interventional 
  Technology (CIT)
Computed Tomography (CT)
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
CT/MRI Combined
Mammography
Quality Management

Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS)

The DMS program is designed as an advanced discipline of study for two-year graduates of radiography programs or the equivalent as determined by the Department of Radiologic Sciences. Students in this program select either a cardiac or medical emphasis.

 

Nuclear Medicine

The nuclear medicine program is designed as an advanced discipline of study for two-year graduates of radiography programs or the equivalent as determined by the Department of Radiologic Sciences.

 

Radiation Therapy

The radiation therapy program is designed as an advanced discipline of study for two-year graduates of radiography programs or the equivalent as determined by the Department of Radiologic Sciences.

 

Radiology Practitioner Assistant/Radiologist Assistant

The radiology practitioner assistant/radiologist assistant program prepares ARRT registered technologists with a minimum of three years experience to serve as mid-level health professionals providing radiology services under the supervision of a radiologist. This accessible educational program (you attend intensive sessions twice a semester) offers an opportunity to build upon your experience and expertise and to fulfill your personal, professional and educational goals.
