What a day it was! A purple and white balloon drop, 125 performers, showers of confetti and a 125-square-foot cake were all part of WSU’s 125th-anniversary festivities.
The community joined in the celebration too. Ogden, Davis County, Washington Terrace, and Gov. Gary Herbert declared the day “Weber State University Day.” Members of Utah's congressional delegation including Rep. Rob Bishop and Sen. Mike Lee also recognized the day, and Ogden displayed WSU flags downtown. The party went into the night with the grand opening of a Campus Store location at Weber State Downtown.
If you attended any part of WSU’s anniversary celebrations, thank you! If you didn’t, or you just don’t want the fun to end, don’t worry. It’s not too late to join the party and keep it going.
WSU’s 125th anniversary also marked the public announcement of Dream 125: The Campaign for Weber State. This comprehensive campaign seeks to raise $125 million to secure a bright future for our students. Philanthropic investments will go toward our efforts to provide opportunity, advance knowledge and enhance campus, and you can support any number of specific initiatives. You can even create a named scholarship or other fund.
With more than $101 million raised so far, we’re nearly there! As President’s Society members, you are already helping us reach our goal, and WSU is counting upon your continued support.
