In the fall of 2005, the newly reorganized WSU Planning Council identified five initiatives as priorities for Weber State University in the period from 2005 to 2007.

Those initiatives are:

Providing information technology support to the WSU campus community on a 24-hours per day, 7-days a week basis.

Managing institutional enrollment through systematic recruitment and retention of students.

Increasing student engagement.

Recruiting and retaining under-served student populations.

Fostering regional economic development.
