Carey Campbell is Assistant Professor of Music at Weber State University, where he has taught musicology courses since 2008.
Carey's publications have appeared in Performance Practice Review, Eighteenth-Century Music, Early Music, and PopMatters, and he is a contributor to Musicians and Composers of the Twentieth Century. He has given presentations at national and regional meetings of the American Musicological Society and the Popular Culture Association, and was a collaborator on the "Windows to Bach" project presented to the Music Teacher's National Association. Carey is frequently called upon to write program notes for WSU performances, and has three published CD liner notes to his credit. Carey is a content author for the State of Utah's Technology-Intensive Concurrent Enrollment project and has served as an independent contractor for WW Norton.
Carey received a PHD in Musicology in 2008 from the University of Minnesota, and also holds degrees in Horn Performance and Music Education
Carey is currently working on topics related to appropriation in music and popular culture.
