The following scholarship auditions will be held for 2008-09:

Band

February 15, 2008 (3-6 PM) - Percussion / Jazz Rhythm Section BC125
February 16 and 23, 2008 (9-4 PM) - Winds BC125

Call Dr. Thomas Root (801-626-6443) for an appointment. Your audition will consist of:

• Two contrasting excerpts, 3-4 minutes long to demonstrate technique and  expression.
• 12 major scales and sight reading
• Percussionists should prepare an excerpt on timpani, snare, mallets, and drum set and be prepared to briefly sight read on each of these instruments.
  

Orchestra

February 23, 2008 (9 - 5:00 PM) in BC 136

Call Dr. Michael Palumbo (801-626-6991) for an appointment. Your audition will consist of:

• 2 major scales and 1 minor scale, all in 3 octaves
• 10 minutes worth of solo material

May be performed with or without accompaniment.
 
Vocal/Choral

Fevruary 23, 2008 (9-5 PM) BC113

Call Georgene Ady (801-626-6437) for an appointment. Your audition will consist of:

• Two songs; must be less than 2 minutes each in length
• Preferably classical in contrasting styles and languages.
• Audition will also include sightsinging.
  

Must have your own accompanist or tape/CD with accompaniment.
 
Keyboard

• Two memorized pieces of contrasting styles and evidence of fluency in major and minor scales and arpeggios.
  
• Should also be prepared to sight read late intermediate level accompaniment.
  (Out-of-state applicants may submit a tape/CD by March 1, 2008).
