Scholarships

The following scholarships are available to students in the dance program.

You must complete the WSU Scholarship Application form is to qualifyfor the following scholarships. This application is available atthe Scholarship Office, located in the Shepherd Union Building Room101, or online at www.weber.edu/scholarships. Additional application forms may be required; contact the Department of Performing Arts (801-626-6437) for more information.

Dance Area Scholarship

Patti O'Neal Scholarship
This scholarship isfunded in memory of Patti O'Neal, who was a member of the WSU dancefaculty. She left this earth after a valiant fight with cancer and willbe remembered.
 
Department of Performing Arts Scholarships

John A. & Telitha E . Lindquist Scholarship for Creative Arts
Thisaward was created to enhance and enrich the social, cultural andartistic climate of the university community by funding scholarshipsand fellowships that support creative and artistic efforts by WSUstudents and faculty.

Sophie Wetherell Reed Scholarship
SophieWetherell Reed was the premier dance teacher in Weber County for manyyears and taught hundreds of students. She also had a love for drama aswell as for music. Her daughter, Sophie Reed Richards, established thisscholarship in memory of her mother. Richards passed away in 1997, notlong after graduating from WSU at the age of 70.

Anya Kenley Scholarship
This award wasestablished by Julie Kenley in remembrance of her daughter, Anya, whowas 16 years old when she died of lymphoma. Anya was an accomplisheddancer, musician and writer. She rejoiced in the arts. Had she lived,she would have been both an artist and a patron of the arts. She wishedthat her opportunity not be lost but passed on to other earneststudents.

Tuition Waivers

Activity Tuition Waivers
Full- and half-tuitionwaivers are available. Auditions for the next academic year, 2010-2011, are to be held on February 13 at 12:00 PM in Val A. Browning CenterRoom 38 (BC 38). For more information, e-mail Joanne Lawrence.

DANCE  2/13/10   in BC38  Audition is at 12:00 noon (No charge for the audition.)

Come a little early to warmup.  Be dressed in dancewear with bare feet.

There’s no need to prepare anything for the audition.

A workshop will be held that morning for high school students.

Registration for the workshopis at 8:30 am in BC 38.

Workshop Cost $15 (includes lunch)
