Music Scholarships

 

Departmental Scholarships 

**Students must fill out an application form for all deparmental scholarships.
 
May be awarded to any worthy student in the Department of Performing Arts.
 
Full-time student with a GPA of at least 3.0.  Outstanding performer in one or more of the ares of Performing Arts.
 
Declared major in Visual Arts, Performing Arts or Literature and have a Minimum GPA of 2.5.
 
Declared major in the department. GPA requirement of 3.0.
 
Scholarship available to students who demonstrate talent in arts or humanities at the high school or university levels and exhibit academic ability.
 
Declared major in the performing arts. GPA requirement of 3.0.
 

Music Scholarships

Jacob Grant College Student Scholarship
This is an essay scholarship. Must be a current high school senior or undergraduate student. Attending college in Fall 2017. Resides in the United States. Cannot be employed or related to an employee of Jacob Grant Property Management.

Declared major in music at or end of junior year. GPA requirement of 3.5. 
 
Declared major in music with an emphasis in any instrument. GPA requirement of 3.5. Full time student.
 
Instrumental Music Major with a GPA of at least 3.0.
 
Junior or senior majoring in Music Education or Pedagogy with outstanding promise as a teacher.  GPA requirement of 3.2.
 
Declared major in music performance, music pedagogy, or music education. GPA requirement of 3.2.
Preference may be given to music students who also excel in music composition or arrangements.
 
Declared major in music. GPA of at least 2.75. 
 
Declared major or minor in the music area in the Department of Performing Arts. GPA requirement of 2.5. Full or part-time.
 

Strings/Orchestra

Awarded to one band and one orchestra member in financial need who is a music major with a GPA requirement of 3.0.
 
Orchestra Student with a GPA of at least 3.0.
 
Recipients must be taking classes and private lessons in cello at Weber State University. GPA requirement of 3.0.
 
String area music major at the 3000 level or above. GPA requirement of 3.0. 
 
Orchestra students must be enrolled full time at WSU. GPA requirement of 2.5.
 

Piano/Organ

Declared major in Keyboard Pedagogy or Performance. Full-time student. GPA requirement of 3.0.
 
Assist students in music, particularly piano.  Student with a GPA of at least 3.2.
 

Declared major in Keyboard Performance or Keyboard Pedagogy. GPA requirement of 2.5.

Declared major or minor in Keyboard Pedagogy. GPA requirement of 3.0. Full or part time.
Preference will be given to full time students.
 

Declared major in Keyboard Performance or Keyboard Pedagogy. GPA requirement of 3.2.
Preference may be given to students who have taken lessons and demonstrated high proficiency in organ.

For students studying organ at WSU.  No GPA requirement.
 
Declared major in Keyboard Performance or Keyboard Pedagogy. GPA requirement of 2.5. Full-time.
Declared major in keyboard performance or keyboard pedagogy. GPA requirement of 3.5. Full-time.
 
Declared major in Keyboard Performance or Pedagogy. GPA requirement of 2.5. Full-time. 
 

Winds/Percussion

Awarded to one band and one orchestra member in financial need who is a music major with a GPA of at least 3.0.
 
J. Ray and Loraine C. Barrios Music Scholarship
Trumpet player with an overall GPA of 3.0. or higher.
 
Students must be enrolled full time at WSU. GPA requirement of 2.5.
 

Choral/Vocal 

Choral student with a GPA requirement of 3.0.
 
 Vocal major with a GPA requirement of 3.0.  Awarded to a senior or junior student.
 
Declared major in vocal performance, vocal pedagogy or choral music education. GPA requirement of 3.2. Full-time.
Preference may be given to students who excel in choral conducting.
 
Students must be enrolled full time at WSU. GPA requirement of 2.5.
