REU projects involve students in meaningful ways in ongoing research programs or in research projects specifically designed for the REU program.

Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) - Registry of Undergraduate Researchers

The Council on Undergraduate Research hosts a Registry of Undergraduate Researchers. The purpose of this registry is to facilitate matchmaking between undergraduates with research experience and a desire to pursue an advanced degree, and graduate schools seeking high quality students who are well prepared for research.  The

iUtah Undergradute Opportunities

iUtah is a statewide effort dedicated to maintaining and improving water sustainability in Utah. Funded by the National Science Foundation's EPSCoR program (Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research) this five-year, $20 million competitive award will assist in building the human and research infrastructure needed to sustainably manage Utah's water resources.

Round River Study Abroad Programs

Round River Conservation Studies is a non-profit organization focused on international conservation research and education. Round River believes landscapes are powerful educators. Our student programs are designed to involve small groups of students with inspiring people and actual research projects that are finding and implementing solutions to real conservation issues. The student programs contribute significantly to the larger conservation initiatives of Round River and our local partners.

Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Program

The purpose of the Foundation is to provide a continuing source of highly qualified scientists, mathematicians, and engineers by awarding scholarships to college students who intend to pursue research careers in these fields.

Cincinnati Children's Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF)

The Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) Program at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center offers undergraduates the chance to explore clinical and basic science research in laboratories in the Department of Pediatrics, University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. The primary goal is to provide students with a foundation for making career choices in the biomedical sciences. Students have the opportunity to work with one of more than 700 faculty members at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, many of whom have active research programs that cover all areas of pediatric medicine, including the study of developmental biology, congenital disorders, genetic diseases, cancer, cardiology, neurology and immunology.

Department of Homeland Security Summer Internship Program

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) sponsors a 10-week summer internship program for students majoring in homeland security related science, technology, engineering and mathematics (HS-STEM) Disciplines. The program provides students with quality research experiences at federal research facilities located across the country and allows students the opportunity to establish connections with DHS professionals. It is open to undergraduate students in a broad spectrum of HS-STEM Disciplines and DHS mission-relevant Research Areas.

Department of Energy Scholars Program

The DOE Scholars Program introduces students or recent college graduates to DOE’s mission and operations. As a participant in the DOE Scholars Program, you will earn a competitive edge by familiarizing yourself with DOE functions while showcasing your education, talent and skills.

NASA Undergraduate Student Research Project

The NASA Undergraduate Student Research Project, or USRP, offers internship opportunities for undergraduate science and engineering students at all 10 NASA centers and additional partner facilities. These mentor-guided internships provide hands-on, real-life, career-related experiences that challenge, inspire, and provide practical application that complements and expands upon students' academic education.

National Center for Toxicological Research

Summer research opportunities are available at the National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR), U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in Jefferson, Arkansas.  This program is designed for science and mathematics students preparing for future careers in toxicology, regulatory science, or related scientific disciplines. Selected individuals will participate in research projects on the biological effect of potentially toxic chemicals and the solutions to toxicology problems that have a major impact on human health and the environment.

Pathways to Science Summer Research Opportunities

Pathways to Science is a project of the Institute for Broadening Participation (IBP). Pathways to Science supportspathways to the STEM fields: science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. We place particular emphasis on connecting underrepresented groups with STEM programs, funding, mentoring and resources.

SULI - Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internship

This internship supports the advancement of undergraduate students interested in pursuing careers in science and engineering. SULI prepares students to pursue professional careers and graduate school opportunities by providing direct exposure to Ames Laboratory's research facilities, scientists, and technical staff.

Summer ORISE Fellowship Opportunity at CDC

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH), Division of Laboratory Sciences (DLS), is seeking Summer ORISE Fellows to focus on public health issues related to the environment.  Candidates will join projects associated with developing and applying new methods to characterize and quantitate biochemical markers that are relevant in environmental exposures and chronic diseases.  The fellowship carries a stipend of approximately $2,700 per month for full-time undergraduate student fellows and $3,300 for full-time graduate student fellows.
