HCR Manor Care Foundation   supports organizations involved in research and public education about diseases and disorders affecting the elderly, and organizations which provide community service and outreach to such individuals.  The foundation's goals are to extend the reach of the many innovative and supportive senior care programs that are being offered by nonprofit organizations; to support and encourage breakthroughs in the treatment of diseases and disorders that impact the quality of life for our society's seniors; and to provide information to seniors and families dealing with diseases and issues affect them.   Letters of inquiry are accepted on a rolling basis.  Organizations that are asked to submit a complete grant application form will be notified of pending deadlines.   (F&CGA 11/00)

NSF:  Perception, Action & Cognition   supports research on perception, action and cognition including the development of these capacities.  Emphasis is on research strongly grounded in theory.  Research topics include vision, audition, haptics, attention, memory, reasoning, written and spoken discourse, motor control, and developmental issues in all topic areas.  The program encompasses a wide range of theoretical perspectives, such as symbolic computation, connectionism, ecological, nonlinear dynamics, and complex systems, and a variety of methodologies including both experimental studies and modeling.   (Guidelines)
