WSU's associate's degree nursing program is designed to prepare you for entry-level clinical practice as registered nurses. The program is structured for you to receive either an Associate of Science (86 credits) or Associate of Applied Science (68 credits) degree. Upon graduation, you are eligible for registered nurse licensure upon successful completion of the national RN licensure exam (NCLEX-RN). AS and AAS degree students who have successfully completed the first year of the nursing program are eligible to take the practical nursing licensure exam (NCLEX-PN).
