Several Microbiology faculty members involve students in undergraduate research opportunities.  Some students work on projects over the summer, others participate during the regular school year. 

To earn directed research credits you should talk with the faculty member(s) you would like to work and discuss project ideas. Each faculty member has their own research interests and directed research policies, so it is important to speak with them before you sign up. 

Research funds are available directly to students through the Office of Undergraduate Research.  Awards usually include money for supplies and sometimes as a stipend. Money is also available for travel to national conferences. Deadlines are dispersed throughout the year.
