Why choose Radiologic Technology at WSU?
- After completion of WSU’s radiography program, you will sit for the national certification examination administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), a certification that is recognized in all fifty states and in most other countries.
- WSU students have a 95 percent or better pass rate on all national certification examinations. WSU’s radiologic sciences department offers 25 years of non-traditional educational experience.

What are the employment opportunities?
Completion of the associate of applied science degree in the radiography (X-ray) program opens employment opportunities in hospitals, clinics, physician offices and in industrial x-ray; for example, the aerospace industry.
Employment of registered radiologic technologists is expected to grow by as much as 42 percent in Utah and 25 percent nationally by the year 2008.
Starting Salaries Starting salaries vary depending on the region, workplace and skill level. Radiography graduates have been hired with salaries ranging from $30,000 to $35,000 in Utah. For more information, go to Career Services.

What will I learn in the program?
You will learn about patient care and assessment; psycho-social aspects of patient care; radiation biology, safety and protection; radiation physics and instrumentation; anatomy and radiographic positioning procedures; medical terminology and pathology; and the principles and techniques of diagnostic imaging.
