What are the employment opportunities?

Graduates find employment in interior design and architecture firms as designers in the areas of kitchen and bath, residential, hospitality, health and medical, corporate space planning, and retail. Graduates also work as product representatives for finishes, furnishing and equipment companies.

Starting Salary
Starting salaries vary depending on the region, workplace and skill level. Graduates can expect to start at $24,000-$32,000 per year. For more information, go to Career Services.

   

What will I learn in the program?

You will learn to enhance the quality and function of interior spaces to improve your client's quality of life and to protect the health, safety and welfare of the public you serve. You will study design theory and application; the history of art, architecture and furniture; construction and presentation drawings; the design process; business practices and space planning. You will develop problem-solving approaches to design. Practical experience through internships and cooperative work placements will enhance your classroom learning.
