What are the employment opportunities?

Graduates in geography find employment opportunities as cartographers, urban and regional planners, military and foreign service officers, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) professionals in both the government and private sectors, high school and college teachers, resource managers, park rangers, environmental specialists, and land use and transportation planners.

What will I learn in the program?

Geography is the study of maps and the spatial patterns that form on the Earth's surface. These patterns represent phenomena that are part of nature or part of human culture.

You will be prepared to enter occupations that require knowledge from the natural and social sciences broad realms of expertise. You can pursue a bachelor's degree or minor in geography and geography teaching.
