Application Fee

Each MHA application form must be accompanied by a $60 (U.S.) application fee ($95 for international applicants). Credit card is the preferred form of payment, but other forms are welcome. Additional instructions for payment are in the online application process.

Checks must be made payable to Weber State University. Please make sure your name is clearly written on your check. Your application will not be reviewed without payment.

Application Submission

You are responsible for submitting a complete application. The final online application process will prompt you to submit your completed application. Your application will not be considered complete until you have submitted.

Notification of Admissions Decision

Each application is reviewed in depth by the MHA Admissions Committee. Decisions are made only after thoughtful weighing of all the evidence provided by each candidate and with careful consideration given to the overall balance of participants sought for the MHA program. You will be notified in a timely fashion after the MHA Admissions Committee has considered your application.

Transcripts

Official transcripts of your academic record from all previous colleges or universities attended should be submitted with your application. You may request that official transcripts be sent directly to the MHA Admissions Committee or to you. You may then forward your official transcripts, but they must be sent UNOPENED in their original, sealed envelope.

GMAT or GRE

Unless you already hold a professional degree, such as an MBA, MD, JD, or similar, you are required to submit scores from the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE). If you are considering a dual MHA/MBA degree, you must complete the GMAT. You must also request that an official score be sent to the Ezekiel R. Dumke College of Health Professions for verification purposes. The program code for the Dumke College of Health Professions MHA Program is 2GH-VM-68 for the GMAT and 4941 for the GRE.

Your application will not be considered complete without GMAT or GRE scores and percentiles reported. If you have not received an official score report at the time you submit your application, you should report the preliminary total, quantitative, and verbal scores from the computerized test.

To obtain information and an application for the test visit the GMAT web site at www.gmac.org or the GRE web site at www.ets.org.

International Applicants

If you are an international applicant, you will need to complete additional paperwork in order to comply with university and U.S. Immigration regulations. If you have questions about the Weber State University admissions process for international applicants, you may contact Rachel Preece at 801-626.6005 or admissions@weber.edu.

To be admitted, you will have to meet all academic requirements stated above and demonstrate proficiency in English. If your native language is not English, you will be required to submit a score from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) that is not more than two years old and is 550 or higher. If you have received a bachelor's degree from English-speaking colleges or universities, you are exempted from this requirement.

You must have taken the TOEFL and received at least your unofficial scores prior to submitting your application. Official score reports must be sent from E.T.S. to Weber State University. WSU’s institutional code is 4941.

To obtain information about the test, contact Education Testing Services, P.O. Box 6151, Princeton, NJ 08541-6151 (Telephone: 609-771.7100; Web site: www.toefl.org).

Letters of Recommendation

You are required to submit two recommendations, at least one of which should be from someone who has known you in a professional context, ideally a current or former supervisor. Recommendations are part of the online application process and will be sent to the recommenders by email.  In order to complete this portion of the application, the applicant will need the name and email address of each person making the recommendation.  The Admissions committee suggests that you request these recommendations early in the application process to ensure those arrive prior to the application deadline.

By requesting online recommendations, the applicant has waived the right to see the content of the recommendations and understands the recommendation will remain a confidential communication to the MHA Admissions Committee.

Resume

You should upload a current resume or CV as part of the online application process.

Optional

If there are extenuating circumstances or concerns (e.g. your academic performance as an accurate measure of your potential, unexplained gaps in your work experience, etc.) affecting your application that you feel the MHA Admissions Committee should be aware of, please elaborate in a separate word file and upload with the online application.
